READ ABOUT OUR FIRST JOB…
After RemoteTaxi's 2010 appearance in Austria, Viennese production company System Provider invited us back in September 2011 to once again record mega-entertainer, Hansi Hinterseer at the stunning open air stadium in Kitzbühel, Austria.
This time Peter was accompanied by Sven Raff who took on main recording duties. Sven comments, "I've been thoroughly impressed, not to say happily surprised with the efficient work flow and quality of audio recording that we're achieving with Remote Taxi - we just don't need to drag a huge truck of equipment all over Europe nowadays… and that's got to be good news for the client as it keeps their costs down!
Again this year the PA company and ourselves were using Riedel RockNet audio distribution networks. So instead of taking the normal audio splits as our feed, we integrated our Fibre, MADI and Mic In units into their system to make one large 'fibre-optic signal ring'. We recorded 64 channels of audio using just two CAT5 cables!"
Peter Brandt adds, "RockNet has got to be the way forward for live recording… up to 160 audio channels in a single CAT5 cable! Impressive!"
Unfortunately, after the concert there was no time to explore the wonderful countryside as Peter next day mixed the recording in 5.1 in the RemoteMixRoom back at the RemoteTaxi base in Solingen, Germany.
The Hansi Hinterseer concert was recorded for later transmission on Austrian ORF and German ARD TV channels.
